The stages of Awkwardosis

Ok, here you go. Before I go back to finishing that huge project I have, I decided, with the help of my drooly assistant (just kidding he's not drooling) to clarify the stages of awkwardness and then I plan on commenting on a few other little details..

Stage 1: Awkward- Patient's breathing levels are normal, heart rate is normal with little to no outward signs of mental trauma.

Stage 2: Awkwaard- Patient's breathing levels still normal, heart rate is slightly raised with slight eyebrow raise indicating that patient is beginning to leave comfort zone

Stage 3: Aawkwaaard- Patient's breathing levels have increased resembling mild hyperventilation, heart rate has begun to pound in patient's chest. Comfort zone has been completely breached and patient has arrived at a new mental level of shock and fear.

Stage 4 (danger zone): AAAwKwaaaard- Patient has begun hyperventilation; with each passing minute, mental trauma is wiping away brain cells resulting in permanent brain damage. Patient begins to exhibit shell shock common of combat soldiers. Patient MUST seek medical care immediately in order to reverse adverse effects of said traumatic situation (trip to Mallard's may reduce symptoms and slow spread of trauma).

*note: if symptoms persist or reoccur, remove patient from awkward situations and arrange consultation with a clown.*

Kristine- I still think of the night when I went to Jack in the Box and ate a bacon cheeseburger with a shake and fries. It still makes me happy. Love Austin...

I miss geocaching! Oh man, that was super fun. I wonder if they have any at UW. You guys might have to come down during the spring with the baby and find out.

By the way, it is BEAUTIFUL here today in Bellingham. I think it is about 50 degrees!

ok, back to work!!

love Maren :)

What?! That's the question you ask after such an amazing post addressing your specific confusion?!

It went fine, He is completely alert and is able to hobble to the bathroom. He is also eating anything and everything, although he hears a buzzing whenever anyone talks. It think it's the anesthesia. and His tongue was the size Rhode Island.

ok. back to paper!

how are you doing?

Glad to see Austin is... Austin. :)
I think a trip to Mallard's is in order. Can I go too??

Yes, the Jack in the Box night was fun... but I recall a certain question that was asked regardinga potentially awkward situation. Makes me laugh to think of it. And the french toast sticks I craved so badly at midnight.. and later made me so horribly sick.

We'll definitely have to do some geocaching at UW. If they don't have any we can make our own. I'll hide Baby Booth somewhere near campus and you can find him/her with the GPS.... awkward silence... Okay, we won't do that. Too cruel. We'll hide Alex instead. :)

Long day today.. I need a nap so I can get some nice back. Happy homeworking!
For Autin - We're happy to hear your surgery went well and hope you have a speedy recovery.

P.S. Marn, We were checking out the new picture at the top and trying to figure out when it was taken. How old is it??

It was great to see you last night - hope you have something fun planned for the weekend. We are going out with Denis and Valerie tonight. Dinner at Zupas, then Bride Wars!

I'm super jealous. I think Matt and I are going to try and do something but we need someone else.

2005, that was taken at Alex's running start graduation. I was 13, Alex was 18 and Austin was 15. Wow that was a really long time ago!

I miss you guys so much.

love Maren

p.s. call sometime this weekend!

Glad the surgery is all over and hope they figure out what sort of exotic thing he had going on there.

That third picture of Austin looked a lot like Sophie. I'd not noticed that so strongly before, but I'm sure you all have, since you've seen each other day in and out for years! ;-)

I know you were looking for comment on the cute post, but I found myself looking at the quilt on the couch and wondering if your mom made it? It looks neat. :-) Sorry. :-/

Yes, my mother made that quilt. It is quite warm when it is on a bed.

How are you all holding up?

Thanks for reading my blog, I really appreciate it!

Love Maren :)

We're doing okay here... but our house is much quieter. I was in the basement last night and stepped into a few of the kids' old rooms. You hardly feel their energy there anymore... they've been gone for so long. Diane is the exception... you can just walk into her room and feel she's still very much invested in being there (even though she's not been here since last fall). She'll be back home for the summer and is coming in only a few weeks! That will be fun. A couple of little girls came to the door last week to have me get their soccer ball out of the brambles near the edge of our orchard. It was a nice little break and made me remember when our own kids and the neighbor kids were all over the place outdoors. I don't wish to go back and do it over, but sometimes it's way too quiet. :-)

Ron is holding... but has to get checked every few months to watch for cancer signs coming back. So far so good. Boring, huh? I just made a bunch of new soaps and have been doing lots of scanning for family history... and talk to kids on the cell phone often. Oh... got a new sewing machine also and want to retrain myself to sew a few projects before Baby Booth comes along. ;-) Nothing fancy... practical and probably superfluous since everyone is going to shower them with stuff for the first child. :-)

Karen has called... have a great week! :-)
